Leading Others

  1. Being a Leader
    (2.5 hours)
    Advance your foundational understanding and capabilities for leading others, whether you’re a formal people leader or a project team leader. Through this program, you will learn several foundational practices of great leaders that will help you accelerate and advance your capabilities when leading others. NOTE: if you’ve previously attended our Managing Others program, Being a Leader will advance your knowledge and capabilities, so this is a great follow-on from Managing Others, though prior attendance in Managing Others is not required.

    (3 hours)
    Learn advanced principles and practices of senior leaders This program will help you advance your leadership capabilities and effectiveness as your leadership responsibilities continue to grow. This program is recommended for those currently at director level or above.

  4. Communicating as a Leader
    (2 hours)
    Learn best practices, tips, and techniques for communicating as a leader, which will up-level your communication skills and overall effectiveness as a leader.

  5. Creating a Strong Team Culture
    (2 hours)
    Learn how to enhance the culture of your team, which in turn increases team member engagement, commitment, and satisfaction, while getting the whole team moving in a shared direction.

  6. Establishing & Maintaining Trust as a Leader
    (2 hours)
    Trust is the foundation for all that we do when communicating, interacting, and working with others. A leader’s ability to quickly build and sustain trust over time is critical to the effectiveness of the leader and their team. Learn foundational ways to build and sustain trust as a leader.

  7. Explicit Expectations
    (2 x 2 hours)
    Leading and managing others can be challenging and confusing. Understanding how to create, communicate and lead by explicit expectations quickly elevates and accelerates your effectiveness as a people leader. This program will give you meaningful and actionable insights that you can use year after year, and also as your leadership role increases.   8. Leading through Others
    (2 x 2 hours)
    The requirements of leaders change significantly when you start leading other people leaders.     If you’re new to managing other people, this is a great foundational leadership program where you’ll learn a number of practices for effective management of other colleagues.   10. Setting Goals & Expectations

    The importance of clear and specific goals and expectations cannot be overstated, as this is how we get our team members on the path toward working on the right things, at the right time, and in the right ways. As a people manager / leader, it’s always useful to learn new techniques or reinforce existing techniques to ensure you’re helping your team and organization focus on meaningful work, while setting your team members up for success.

  11. Setting Up Your Team for Success

    Explore key leadership topics such as setting clear roles and responsibilities, setting clear goals and expectations, and best practices for communicating as a leader. This is an opportunity to refresh learning in key team leader aspects and augment your learning in additional team leader effectiveness realms.

  12. The Neuroscience of Leadership
    (2 x 2 hours)
    Advance your leadership capabilities and effectiveness by understanding and leveraging the neuroscience behind why we and others think and behave the way we do. Understanding this will help you up-level your leadership effectiveness. This program is recommended for those currently at associate director level and above.
